A system is designed to perform fast real-time PCR (qPCR). With reaction droplets rapidly shuttling between hot (95⁰C) and warm (60⁰C) zones, 40 thermal cycles are completed within 18 minutes. Detection of synthesized DNAs simulating SARS-CoV-2 is demonstrated using US Centers for Disease Control’s primer/probe design and commercial qPCR master mix.
A system is designed to perform Chemi-Luminiscent Immuno-Assays (CLIA) facilitated by magnetic beads. Beckman Coulter’s Access AccuTnI +3 Assay is adopted to benchmark this system against Beckman Coulter’s Access 2. Fifty times volume reduction in sample & reagents is achieved by our system, while critical performance, such as reportable range/Precision/LOD, is also comparable to Beckman Coulter’s Access 2.
An IC bio-senor chip, which can detect low concentration proteins by Field-Effect Transistor (FET) mechanism, is integrated with our custom-designed cartridge, enabling liquid handling and detection all at once on this hybrid device.
